The American government becomes more and more theocratic, more and more under the thumb of the Christian
right. Have they nothing better to do than to limit the definition of the word "marriage" so as to exclude
the gays they despise so much?

SANTA FE, N.M. -- A New Mexico family is suing their local Catholic church over a funeral mass in which the priest allegedly
said their relative was a "lukewarm" Catholic and was going to hell....
Court papers filed last month say that Rev. Scott Mansfield said at Martinez's funeral last year that the deceased was
"living in sin,""lukewarm in his faith" and that "the Lord vomited people like Ben out
of his mouth to hell."
...
Nine members of the Martinez family are seeking unspecified punitive and compensatory damages for severe emotional and
physical suffering....The complaint also said that as Mansfield walked to the grave, he laced his comments about
Martinez with profanities.
Webmaster's comment:
God bless America, land of the frivolous lawsuit. This is like suing a fortune teller who makes
a pessimistic prediction. Unfortunately, many people take Catholic priests more seriously than they do fortune tellers.
